Danny Shay

Background Info

I'm a naturalist, traveler, outdoors man, and an environmental education songwriter (extra super geeky, I know). I have BA with a double major in Biology and Geology. In college I focused my research on paleoenvironmental proxies. I took cores of lakes and studied the trapped pollen to look at the changes the environment had undergone in the last few thousand years! I have been moving around the country since graduating college in 2008 and have worked on Barrier Islands in the southeast and Boreal Forests in the northwest as an environmental educator and naturalist. My job is to present science lessons in the outdoor classroom for local schools in a way that nurtures environmental appreciation and stewardship. As of September 2010, I am living and working as the environmental education facilitator at a National Wildlife Refuge in Eastern Washington.
