Interests: When I'm not ecogeeking out on the web, I love to be outdoors! Adventure always awaits in nature and I enjoy hiking, kayaking, SCUBA diving, rock climbing, mountain biking and, although I'm not too good at it yet, surfing in the frosty ocean waters of Northern California. I also enjoy reading, spending time with friends and playing with my ten year old yorkie puppy, peanut. Then of course, there is my newest passion! Writing and creating fun, entertaining science videos to get everyone excited about all the awesome stuff the world has to offer!
In addition to being an ecogeek, I am also a wildlife biologist and biology instructor at San Jose State University in California. My specialty is researching mammals in the field and working hard to preserve open space and species of all kinds. I hold a masters of science in conservation biology and hope to one day get my Ph.D. - I wonder if I can get a Ph.D. in making awesome science videos?
