An Overview of the Human Biology Portal
You may have heard that the human body is simply a collection of cells. Those cells are grouped into tissues, organs and organs systems. Organ systems perform different tasks within the body and help us function efficiently. Each organ system works with the others, and together they make us whole. We here at Untamed Science feel that it is extremely important for you to know how all these systems work so that you can better understand your body.
This web portal of Untamed Science is dedicated to helping you learn about human biology and physiology. The site is divided up via the major organ systems such as the circulatory system, the digestive system, and the nervous system. Within each organ system you'll find other articles that pertain to the topic. An article on blood, for instance, is under the circulatory system.
To hold true to our media rich mission here at Untamed Science, we're trying to attach a unique video that can explain each topic. We hope you enjoy the articles and videos we have so far. Please feel free to print them off and use them either in a classroom setting or at home as study guides. If you feel like helping us expand our human biology portal, we encourage you to help add content to this site. Contact us to become an author for content. Once approved, you'll be able to add needed material and be part of an amazing team of passionate biologists.
An Example Video: The Nervous System
This video relates to the nervous system. It discusses how animal toxins effect us. In particular, we look at cone snail toxin to see what happens when someone gets venom from these marine inverts.
