The family Euphorbiaceae is known as the Spurge family.  There are around 7,500 species in nearly 300 genera.  The majority of species come from SE asia and the american tropics.  Most of these plants are herbs that grown in the tropics.  Some can grow as succulents and some can resemble a cactus.
