Sundews and Venus Flytraps: Family Droseraceae

The family Droseraceae is best known for the carnivorous plants that are contained in this group.  In particular the Venus fly trap and hte sticky sundews.  It also contains Aldrovanda vesiculosa, a kind of aquatic venus flytrap.

Plants in this family tend to live in nitrogen poor areas where they have an advantage due to their ability to gain nitrogen from the prey they ingest.
