There are approximately 16,000 Agaricomycetes. These fungi produce mushrooms and are thus, the most recognizable and conspicious of all fungi. Most people that want to identify a mushrooms will first come to this class. From here, there are several unique orders of fungi, all of which we'll profile here. The following orders divide up the Agaricomycetes.
