The Widespread Snapping Turtle

Chelydra serpentina, the Common Snapping Turtle ranges from southeastern Canada south through Central America to Ecuado.  This, like the much larger Alligator Snapping Turtle is known as a snapping turtle.

What does the Common Snapping Turtle like to Eat?

The common snapping turtle will eat a wide variety of plants and animals. Its considered omnivorous, meaning that it eats plants and animals.  Some of its favoirte foods include frogs, toads, crabs, crayfish, small insects, snails, leaches and earthworms.
