The family Viperidae is a group of venomous snakes that are found around the world, except in Australia and Madagascar.  These snakes have relatively long fangs that penetrate deep into their prey.  

There are approximately 224 species in this family. Some common vipers are the rattlesnake, death adder, and copper head.
