One of Twenty Vertebrates is a Catfish!

The taxonomy of the order Siluriformes is still in flux. As of 2007 the number of catfish families has increased from 34 to 36. In those 36 families there are 3,023 living catfish species.  The two most abundant families are the Loricariidae and the Pimelodida.
