Batfishes: Family Ogcocephalidae

The family Ogcocephalidae is a morphologically distinctive taxon.  One of the distinguishing characters is the presence of an illicium.  The illicium is the remains of a spiny dorsal fin (note that a second, soft dorsal fin lies far posterior on the body).
